Good quality Item, metal cased, decent length of pre-wired cable . Looks like it will last for a good length of time.
Simple magnetic contact, magnet requires to be in good alignment with the switch or you may experience problems. Operating gap acceptable. Heavy duty relates to metal construction as opposed to normal plastic.
Bought as replacement for faulty switch nothing to say what wire was what. Used multimeter to find out. If you don’t know how to check the black and red wires are the switch wires and the blue and yellow wires are the tamper wires. Very easy to fit and solved my problem of false alarms.
Ordered for delivery, they arrived on time but one failed to function. rather than post it back I went to local store, which negated the delivery option. No problem with in store replacement but miffed that I payed for delivery - through the nose - and then had to visit store which made the transacton overly expensive. So, bad for faulty item, paying for delivery and having to visit store, good they replaced without question. Bad that delivery cost was not refunded... yet. :-)

this was a normally closed switch and I wanted a normally open switch for a circuit I was making to light a bulb when my garage door was left open. the switch itself seems robust. no instructions for the cable colours.
Although it done exactly what I required there's no information about the wiring connections

I had to return this as it didn't seem to be working. There were no wiring instructions included so it may have been me but even after using a multimeter to identify a working pair from the 4 wires I still couldn't get it to work so had to return it.
Neat little unit. Better than the huge bulky eye sore that it replaced. You will need a meter to bell out the reed switch pair from the tamper loop (no instructions with colour coding). It’s a grade 1 device so no resistors. Found it had to be aligned quite accurately as not very forgiving, this may have been down to the fact that the garage door was metal and may have weakened the strength of the magnet. Fixing screws supplied were strong enough to self tap into metal door. Worked fine and very pleased with quality and look of the unit.
The switch you sold me is faulty.
