They are parallel threaded not tapered so getting a good seal in a Stelrad radiator was very difficult even using use Jointing Compound and PTFE tape. Plus there is no flange on the end of them to seal into the radiator.
I was a bit concerned by some other posts but I had no problem with this. I used the generally recommended 10 or 11 turns of PTFE tape, did it up tight and it's fine.

Rubbish but no other options :-( The tails do not fully fit the radiator and leak unless you put nearly a whole roll of PTFE tape on them. There is no flange on the end of them to appropriately seal into the radiator.

This is a quality product, substantial but easy to cut off 10mm with a copper pipe cutter to make it 50mm long. As usual, the counter service at the Wrexham branch is very good and friendly.
Needed to replace my old imperial radiators with new metric ones and didn't want to move the pipe since that'd be too much for a DIY job that I wasn't up for yet. This extention came handy. Wrapped the tail in PTFE tape about 25 times to get a tight fitting to my satisfaction. In additoin, also used liquid PTFE tape for piece of mind. Used it on four radiators and its holding very well for over a month now, no leaks what so ever. Happy with the purchase and my DIY skills :)
