Ideal adaptor for extending shower pipes out of the wall
I had to replace a 450mm wide towel radiator that had 420m centres (no longer avialable). The replacement rad was 500mm wide so a couple of these extensions took care of the difference. Job done. Oh and the chrome quality is first class so they blended in perfectly with the chrome valves.
Used to replace old quality sized radiator. Easy to use and cosmetically look really good.
Great value product, perfect to be able to install a radiator that is slightly smaller than the previous one.
Does exactly what it is supposed to and looks decent. But, be aware;
The male thread is straight, and feels like it should seal on an o-ring. However the face doesn't lend itself for an o-ring as it pushes the ring out when tightened. Best solution for sealing this is plenty of thread sealing cord (Loctite 55)
The female thread is good for sealing on a tapered fitting. 20mm extension length is enough to close on the taper rather than bottom out on the thread. But the female will take a straight thread with an o-ring too.
This product would've been better if the sealing faces were slightly angled to trap an o-ring.
This 50mm radiator extension is solid and looks good. The thread at the radiator end is short and a loose fit in the radiator. I used Loctite 55 and managed to get a satisfactory fit. I also fitted an O ring for added security. The 12mm hex was too small to fit my 12mm key so I fitted the valve end first and used a spanner on that to screw into the radiator.
Does not fit 15mm tails without damaging copper pipe
This is a well made, nice looking item. The external threaded end is screwed into the radiator and the radiator tail supplied with the radiator valve then screws into the internally threaded part of the radiator extender. It is best to use PTFE tape with it to prevent leaks.
Extender really made changing imperial to metric radiator easy no moving pipe work
First impression is it’s a good piece of kit, sturdy and heavily chrome plated with a good finish. One problem is the male thread is parallel and it aught to be tapered to screw securely into the radiator. I added a fibre washer to secure a seal on this thread otherwise it would have leaked. Next problem, you need a large Allen key to tighten using the internal hex. I had to use the valve connector to tighten the whole assembly into the radiator. In the end it all worked ok and I’m happy with the finished result. Next time I need to do this I’ll find a fitting that is better suited to the job.
Great simple extension piece with many sizes for the gaps.
This adapter effectively makes the radiator 20 mm wider (other sizes are available) it screws into the radiator socket and the female end is the same thread as the radiator.
As mentioned in another review this extension does not seal on a standard lock shield valve due to the length of the internal threads. I tried a couple of times with loads of PTFE tape but did not seal. I swopped it for a 20mm one with no problems
Excellent piece of kit, ideal for making an adjustment from an imperial size radiator, to a metric one. Easy to fit, and no problems have arisen from its use.
Great product used to fit radiator from old imperial to metric
Great well made item used to take up the difference between an old imperial radiator size and fitting a new metric the come in a variety of sizes and fit snug between the valve and the radiator tail just the job
Exactly what I needed at a reasonable
price. Also brought a couple of 60mm after using the 25mm
If your like me and have a standard hex plumbers key it DOES NOT FIT these and good luck finding one that does
Exactly wwhat i need for replacement radiators.various sizes meant it was easy to find
Fairly priced.
Good quality.
Did the job i needed it to do
