These tap inserts are a godsend. Let’s face it, it’s only the tap mechanism which really wears. The chrome body (if looked after) will last and last. To be able to refurbish the taps for about five and a half quid vs tens of pounds for a new tap set is amazing. Especially so as it turns a difficult under-sink struggle into a five minute one spanner job. Particularly appreciated with my advancing years. I measured the spline length on my existing taps (9mm) and they were just a straight swap. The tap tops do sit about 1mm or so, out from their original position, but after a day or two I don’t notice the slight extra gap. Better that than the other way where they would bind. It turned what I thought would be an expensive, difficult slog into a quick, cheap, easy fix.
