Neat and slightly smaller unit than some others. Seems well made and is working well so far after a couple of weeks. My only gripe is how difficult it was to get the wiring tucked away tight enough inside the unit to be able to fit the nuts on the front plate to secure it to the back plate on the wall. Also beware the alignment of the backplate when fitting it to the wall. There is an up arrow sticker on the plate, but if you orientate that arrow vertically, the unit will end up tilted, so align the bolts in the backplate horizontally as you guide, not the screw holes, which are slanted!

Early days but seems durable. The sensor is fixed in position, so detection area is important in the lamps location.

Quite solid lantern - alloy construction rather than the plastic one it has replaced. Easy to install, very pleased with it so would recommend!
The manufacturing quality of this is extremely poor. I accidentally dropped this from a height of just over a meter, which resulted in 1 pane of glass breaking. This WASN'T the issue though. I fully appreciate that glass can break from being dropped from almost any small height and hitting a hard surface. What was more concerning was ALL of the metallic lantern supports that hold each glass pane inplace broke away from the base of the lantern body structure. All but 1 of the glass panes survived, the metal support structure did not.
I was able to remount the lantern body from the original unit onto this one, so averted the need to repurchase another one of these.
I'm happy to post the damaged unit back for a quality control inspection, I wouldn't recommend this. It's extremely flimsy for a light that's designated to be used outside and in all sorts of weather environments.
Other cheaper options were out of stock so plumped for this one. Hasnt disappointed, quality is pretty good and installation a doddle. My daughter is well pleased
Electrician refused to install as he considered the surface area was not sufficient a enough to secure it properly in case it got knocked
Overall this appears to be an item of reasonably good quality - only time will tell. However, as others have noted, the enclosure provided for the wiring is far too small and the flexibility of the wiring to the sensor and to the lampholder makes them impossible to dress (= arrange neatly). Granted, as this was a replacement for a failed unit, the existing incoming cable was so short that each conductor had to be extended using through crimp connectors, but even had this not been the case, I would probably have needed - as I did in this instance - to swap the connection strip provided for a smaller one. A normal precaution, with a view to future maintenance, would be to thoroughly grease all 4 of the assembly screws, even though (at least) some of them are non ferrous.
It seems difficult to find a good quality easy to fit outside lantern.
This one had slightly better reviews than others & was to replace one about 12 months old that had got damaged in storm.
Notable points:
Mounting holes are not in a horizontal plane. I had to use a spirit level across the lamp retaining studs to be able to mark the diagonal mounting holes.
Getting the wires to all fit in the quite small junction box so that the lamp sat back onto the box was a challenge.
Pleased with this item, easy to fit but take care to set the lamp fixing bolts level, the plate to wall fixing holes are offset. Takes a screw type led bulb.
Excellent good looking light.well built easy to install and set up. Used with led standard lamp and this gives ideal light at front door
