Brilliant lock we’ve being installing these locks with every gate we’ve ever fitted for the last 8 years wouldn’t use any other lock
Had to order by phone as not available at shops, very helpful lady on the phone and I received it next morning.
A robust slide bolt that is supplied with secure fixings for timber doors and gates, unlike most slide bolts the strike plate is oversized allowing some changes in the vertical alignment and this keeps a smooth action for the stainless stell bolt, it pairs very nicely with the Old Hill Ironworks Cylinder Pull to keep debris out of the cylinder lock.
Note that it does not come with a 26mm flat bit required for the cylinder hole and Toolstation do not stock this size!.
Overall very impressed with the build quality and security this lock provides.
Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. Easy to fit, strong and very effective at a competitive price.
Works well on an entrance to a cellar with oak door set directly in a stone arch. A simple wooden block fastened to the wall to support the striker bracket
Good solid little lock, just the job for a garage door.
Great lock and works very well. Combined with the handle works just like I hoped
Needed to secure the back gate and allow entry to home owners. This lock provided the answer. It came with 5 keys and was a breeze to fit. customer very happy with the lock.
Having been installed on my back gate for a little over one month, there are rust marks on the square bolt. Since this part is stainless, the rust must be coming from the inside of the black part which holds the sliding bolt - I'm guessing powder coated mild steel where the powder coating is wearing off due to the sliding of the throw bolt. A shame the whole thing is not stainless but I guess they don't make things like they used to. A Shame, as otherwise the bolt is strong and sturdy. Therefore, it looses two stars for me - considering its price is should all be stainless.
Brilliant lock simple as that. Bought for a shed door and does exactly as you’d expect. Solid bit of kit.
Easy to fit, but you will need a 26mm hole saw. The 70mm (& 50mm) refers to the thickness of the door/gate panel through which, it will be fixed.(i.e. the length of the brass bit in the picture) Comes with screws & 5 keys.
Good solid quality and easy to fit
A little
More expensive than what I wanted to pay but glad I did easy to fit and seems well made and strong
did what it said on the can, very easy to fit. working perfectly
Strong and rubust. Fairly easy to fit to the back door on workshop.
Recommends using 26mm drill for hole for barrel (used new 26mm Forster bit) however still not big enough had to make hole wider with sanding so barrel went in. I would recommend at least 27 mm wood bit. Used through bolts for lock body rather than the screws provided. Oh the stainless screws provided need a Philips no3 driver bit. Over all very happy!
A very good, secure gate lock, with the longest bolt throw on the market.
