I found it so difficult to fit it into 20mm blue pipe that I had to use a hammer and even then saw off a third of it.

Used for inserts on an old black 21.5mm mains water pipe. Apparently there are 2 wall thicknesses on the old black pipes they used to use, so no guarantees it’ll fit all of them, but they went in perfectly and tight for mine to connect my mains water up without replacing the whole mains pipe.

Perfect fit for the 20mm MDPE pipe sold here. Nice that these inserts can be bought individually but cant really see why they don't come with the fittings.
