Suitable for my needs and value for money but the method of fixing to a bench can greatly affect the ability to use the vice to full advantage. My bench is approx 3cm so the jaws hardly come above the bench surface.
Seems like a good quality vice. Was a faff to install it on my workbench so as to be most useful. Most people knock up some wooden slats to act as jaws so it’s a softer hold but would be good to have a drilling template or suggested installation options inside the box. Hence minus one star

Bought this 6"vice to replace an 8" one. It's well made, no rough edges and has a smooth operation. Jaws meet exactly. I recommend this for the DIYer.

Strong, well made vice. Does the job. If permanently mounted on a workbench as mine is I’d suggest wrapping it in something soft as being metal it could catch on clothing or skin.
