Chose these bulbs for two uplighters...just the colour tone (k rating) and amount of light (lumins) we were looking for with the bonus of halving the wattage being consumed by the previous bulbs. In fact, have just ordered two more to put by.

Good product, as recommended, fits the outside light fitting.
In the ‘old’ days when you bought a light bulb the shop assistant would always check to see if it worked. The packaging was so designed that the end of the bulb could be plugged or screwed in without taking it out of its little box. Nowadays you have to wait until you get home to check. However bulbs these days are much more robust, they don’t have delicate filaments and fragile glass enclosures so they are are much less likely to be damaged. The most important thing about light bulbs now is that they work on a completely different principle to the old style ones and consume a fraction of the electricity to produce light. You can even chose the degree of ‘warmth’ or ‘coolness’ of the light produced and more importantly they have come down in price to make them an obvious choice. I’m sure we don’t have a single old style bulb in the house but we do have a mixture of bayonet and screw bulbs so we keep spares of both types. This particular bulb appears to be okay. It gives a good bright light and looks ‘normal’ As to how long it will last? Only time will tell.
This low energy bulb had a good specification, it fitted fine into a standard BC holder and gave a good light.
