This downlight has 4 clamps for live and neutral loop in and loop out. Each has a springloaded plunger with a tiny head, all fixed close together in a row. This close spacing makes it difficult to depress one without depressing the adjacent ones. Holding the body of the lamp with one hand, with your other hand you have to depress one plunger head using a small screwdriver; then with your third hand you can insert one copper core into the clamp and release the plunger. Then you do the same with the next plunger, but when you press it down its difficult not to release the first core you clamped, which pops out again. All while working on a hop-up with your three hands held above your head. What a rubbish design. In my case it will be necessary to empty the furniture out of the bedroom above, take up the floorboards, and then work from above the downlight.
Bought to replace a flickering light that was only 6 months old.
Completely happy with this product. Works well and gives a nice quality of light.
Bought to install in the soffit over the front door. It gives out a decent amount of warm white light and looks welcoming at night.
Installed using a 67mm hole saw I cut off the green plastic on the spings as this catches on the hole when in the future you might want to remove the light fixture.
Extremely easy to wire and replaced 19 lights in record time!
Good down lights for kitchen l have 20 in my kitchen and the lights is good they are the warm white
Fittings were straightforward and the unit is quite compact
Great little lights, so easy to fit and they give off a really nice warm light. Brilliant value too.
Great lamp for the price and really easy to fit
Maybe purchase the slightly dearer upgrade if you need a brighter lamp
value for money, looks nice and bright light. easy to fix
Very quick and easy to install with the quick connections. Looks good installed and gives good light.
Bought 2 of these to replace similar existing fixed LED unit ( i.e. non - bulb) lights. Fitted easily with electrical wire push fit connections. Very pleased with results. Easy to order and very quick collection message from Toolstation.
AAAA++++
I used these to replace a set of 8 12 v fittings in a kitchen . I picked these because the plasterboard cut out diameter was the same as the old ones which made the job very easy. . The tool-less connectors are quick and easy to connect the wiring, and the finished result very good indeed.
I bought these to replace two existing halogen downlighter. Initially only one worked but fiddling with the connectors I got the other to work but then the 1st didn't. More fiddling with connectors and neither worked. I tried connecting using smaller stranded wire but the same result and the wires could be pulled straight out. After an hour I gave up and returned them. The connectors are rubbish and probably likely to arc and overheat.
Light worked fine. Must use 1.00mm T&E wire for connection. NOT stranded wire as per my first attempt.
Easy to install, bright warm light. Will know about reliability in due course
Easy to install, perfect for kitchen cabinet with glass doors
Nothing wrong with the downlights I bought, but everything wrong with the arrogant and unpleasant member of staff at the Penzance store. I will not be using Toolstation again.
Excellent. Very neat compact fittings that are easier to fit than most. Very bright warm light.
Great price . Easy to fix and looks good . Fitted two in a cloakroom and are perfect
