Found it to be a very poor drill bit, it wouldn’t drill through butter. Really disappointed, have now ordered one from a different supplier. Would not recommend unfortunately.
Haven't used yet. purchased as back up in case of purchased (at the same time) 18mm flat bit did not work for drilling holes for Gripit drywall anchors. The flat bit worked fine.

16mm steel drill bit with shank turned down to 10mm so will fit most hand drills, drilled 40 holes through 10mm plate no problem, 6mm pilot hole

Blunt after a couple of minutes, tip began to deform. Not for metal. Feeble.
Been in motor trade over 35 years and needed a 16mm bit to drill out a mild steal bush from 14mm to 16mm . The drill bit cut for afew seconds then was blunt and useless !! I ended up sharpening an old one I had to complete the job !! Waste of my time and money .

Fast response and excellent quality drill from toolstation, the website does need work as the technical spec of products is not very concise and may put buyers off and possibly look elsewhere (screw###) i would definately look at the website if run the company.
I bought this to. Deepen a 16 mm hole in cast iron which as everyone knows is easy to cut self lubricating and a doddle!! Not for this peace of rubbish even after going deeper with a 10mm then a 13mm to help it the drill it could not drill it The drill material was too soft and could not do the job. Buy a decent make Dormer or one of the others this drill is only for wood and aluminium!!!
Quality Drill bit. I actually needed a wood bit, but I sometimes find you get a smoother finish in wood with a metal bit rather than a wood bit… this worked perfectly and left a smooth hole to knock a metal bolt insert into….
I have drilled through a heavy angle and an RSJ and the drill worked perfectly, the drill shows no sign of wear and I am confident that it will manage the next two holes that I need to do.
Only needed it for 6 holes in an RSJ and it was perfect. Still sharp.
Not bad to get out of trouble, but didnt last long at all on stainless. needs a better coating and ground edges
