Didn’t end up using this, needed a hinge for a huge period style roof hatch I was repairing, the original hinges had long since exploded, this looked really good as you could flop back the hatch and take it off if extra clearance an issue, decided against it as the hinge being elevated on the plate meant it would have created a large gap, am hoping to use the reversible instead. The steel strap is 3mm thick and has a nice black hammer finish. The price is good, watch the other place as their hinges look the same or cheaper but the price is for ONE..who needs one hinge?? Infinitely preferable in my view to standard tee hinges, even if you don’t need the beef they just look more vintage/quality, not tinny..worth the few pounds extra if you’re going to be living with them until you’re old and grey. Holes big enough for m6 coach screws but are counter sunk.

Don't worry about the loose fit of the band on the hook mentioned by other reviewers. The play disappears when the second hinge is fitted.
