Perfect did the replacement job for my motorised valve
Used to replace our previous Honeywell 5-wire unit which had water damage. Fitted straightforwardly. They now come with an additional (6th) wire (it comes from the internal microswitch) which is not needed for our application so should just be isolated.
This is a direct replacement for Honeywell valve but at around half the price! Don't even have to deal with extra white signal wire. Only time will tell as to its robustness.
Good quality, last longing and easy to replace. Recommended
Better price than plumbing outlets for the same product
I bought this genuine Powerhead to replace a copy made by another well known maker, which had failed after just 11 months use. Toolstation gave me an immediate refund (god bless them). This head was a perfect fit and should last many years. It pays to spend that little bit more for the correct part.
In principle, this product should work but for some reason Honeywell decided to use a different wiring convention to other three way valve head units, adding a brown wire and then saying to isolate the white in the instructions.
The instructions do not say to simply put the brown in place of the white, though.
This seems a classic case of attempting to fix something that doesn't work.
In the end I took it back and bought a CORGI equivalent instead.
Replacement Powerhead fitted easily on my Honeywell V4043 3 way valve. I then had to work out which 5 of the 6 wires to use. In my case I could ignore White wire.
Honeywell is a trusted brand so no issues there. The current model has 6 wires and the old model had 5.
Tech dept said just isolate the white.
Toolstation is very expensive for this. Plumb Centre is £20 cheaper
Great service from Toolstation. Fast friendly and when I'd bought the wrong thing, swapping it (unused) for the right part was hassle free.
Easy to replace original. Waiting to see if works as need timer to come on
Excellent product good price quick service used many times before , the price from Toolstation is very good and reasonable
Good quality Honeywell motorised valve head replacement
Very good replacement item, easy to swap. Watch for the white wire as you may not need it, so make sure you insulate it. Quite expensive though.
Bought because of manufacturer for reliability to replace motor as value worked. Just isolate boiler power, wire into junction box push onto value.
Useful item to fix hot water/central heating valve issues
Part was available at my nearest branch within minutes of ordering.
I bought this to replace a motor head for a Honeywell 3-way valve. The head which I removed had the usual 5 wires. This item had six wires: orange, blue, grey, white, green and an additional light brown/beige wire. The instructions mention that the white wire should be "isolated". Nowhere is it stated that the light brown wire has been substituted for the white wire. An extensive trawl through the Internet, including the Honeywell site gave no information about this change of specification. The documentation included is contradictory and factually wrong as it continues to refer to the 5-wire version. I have made a strongly worded complaint to Honeywell as this is a major non-conformity according to their CE and UKCA regulatory certification.
You must connect the light brown wire as if it were white, ignore and insulate the white wire which will become live - 240V - during valve operation! It would seem appropriate to withdraw this from sale until the documentation has been properly written.
