This really does the job although it is slower acting than traditional (and now banned) caustic products. It is also non toxic
Awesome product great results. Removed varnish decades old. 30 mins after application to scrape was optimum time
Good product works well, would recommend to keep it on for 24 hours to make it work it's magic.
Excellent product. The Xtec is basically a gloopier version of the stripper. Company is very accessible on the phone, informed advice available.
A friend picked up my order and it turned out to be Xtec. Rather confirmed my opinion of Toolstation.
If you are patient and follow the instructions, it is much better than you might imagine.
Excellent easy to use product. Paint it on and use stainless steel wire wool to rub it off. Rinse SSWW in water to unclog. Use a sponge and warm water to remove the debris.
Wipe clean and leave to dry.
At first i thought it was a bit pricey, but it works really well i have been painting it on and lettong it stand for an hour then scrubbing it with a kitchen steel scourer . The fact that its ok to use without gloves is a big plus too.
Bought this as the reviews were good but it hadn’t worked and I’ve tried twice. There was only 2 layers of paint to be removed and it hasn’t fully removed even one. I painted it on really thick too
Didn't work that well & seemed a bit expensive for the job it did.
Realky liked this as it worked like magic with no nasty smells.
Works very slowly so if you had time to wait its good
Good paint stripper follow instructions and any good examples of test video. My unit came up clean after being painted blue. Non toxic no smells or other issues.
Does not work very well had to buy different paint striper
As the title says it does the job. I was stripping a garage door that had acquired many coats of paint over 40+ years. It took several applications to get through them all but it got there. It is safe to use and according to its label has no health or safety hazards. How it works I don’t know but it certainly does.
One caveat: if using outdoors it will dry rather rapidly so my advice is to cover the applied area with clingfilm or poly bags and leave as long as possible.
Excellent.
The vinyl emulsion on my kitchen ceiling had partly detached and I needed to remove the remaining area which was firmly stuck on. This product sounded ideal. I applied it to a trial area and covered it overnight with aluminium foil as directed. The result was a layer with the consistency of chewing gum. I could scrape the surface layer off but it left a sticky paint residue behind. I imagine a second application might have got rid of this but tbh it was more trouble than it was worth. Incidentally the solution was a heat gun and a stanley blade-type paint scraper.
Love the thought of an “Eco Friendly” paint stripper, but I’m sorry to say it just doesn’t seem to work. Tried it on 2 test areas and really there was hardly any effect.
I was used it a few times on items that had modern paint and paint quite a bit older. The modern it seems to deal with more easily, but it still works on the old. It won't necessarily deal with multiple layers in one go depending on the paint, but given that it is so much nicer to use, I would forgive that. I would use it again, no question.
Not impressed with its ability to remove paint. I have applied it on wooden surface; then had to wait at least 30 mins before seeing any paint peelings. It removed one layer, but had to reapply for the next layer. It took so much time so I wished I started with a sander. You better buy a paint stripper tool than this.
Won't even take one later of paint off, better of sanding
Used to remove varnish on dining chairs. Did an excellent job in the corners with rest being done with a sander.
