Brought this set for cleaning up a thread on my motorbike. Have since used it for more odd jobs fixing various threads and tapping new threads into metal. The set has everything you need to get started and has the very handy little tool to make finding the correct threads easier. Would highly recommend.
To help get the job doneand very easy to use worth all the money
A good selection but the bigger sizes only have 2 threads, the finest are missing, the ones i could have done with. could do with bigger sizes as well preferably M14, all threads and even M16
Perfect for occasional use. Reasonable value for money but don't expect professional quality tooling.
Quality, Packaging, and value for money are excellent. This is a very good product and a must for any work shop or shed.
This set was more than I currently needed but it had the taps I needed and was in stock. I convinced myself the rest of the set could be handy in the future so decided to purchase. The set is of reasonable quality and I am more than happy with the pieces that I have used. I can recommend this set.
Despite reservations on the cheap looking alloy die holder, the kit works exceptionally well if properly lubricated with cutting oil
Good finish with quality materials used. If I were to add anything to it, I'll say the case could have an extension bar added to it so tapping can be completed in obscure spaces without stripping off any obstacles
Bought this set as couldn’t get taps from US Pro set to cut. These worked a treat 🤦🏻♂️
Not a bad set has everything you need, only missing is the bigger sizes but most sets don’t contain these.
Another product stocked by Toolstation that has a cheap feel, I needed to rethread an aluminium engine casing bolt which it did but I would not be confident using the set on a harder metal
I needed an M10 tap urgently working on a project in Stamford Lincs, could not purchase singularly so had to purchase this set. However great set of taps & dies, plus you get die holder and tap wrench plus thread gauges! Quality was surprising too, as normally at these sort of prices a tap can break after a couple of uses, but these are good. I have taps and dies at home strewn all over in different tool drawers but now I have a great set all neatly set out. Thanx Tool Station. I also purchased cutting, threading fluid, they are never short of anything they have.
Had the right size needed, has a good better than basic size range. Quality seems good too.
restoring a car. This is great for cleaning rusty bolts and nuts for easier reassembly.
It’s a nice well presented kit with various different sizes, it worked well for the application I needed for the only thing I found was the alloy handles are a little flimsy
A reasonable quality set of taps and dies for occasional use which is what I required. Actually I only needed to replace some worn items in my old set, which is by coincidence, is a thirty year old Hilka set so able to make a direct comparison. Quicker and cheaper to purchase a new set at a realistic price than order individual dies from an engineering suppliers. The taps and dies seem to work just as well, but the handles look rather lesser quality than the original parts. Although not required by myself, the thread gauge is a handy addition for some, but that screwdriver just looks wrong as noted in previous reviews!
To sum up, very happy with this set for the money.
The few times I have used this it has performed as required. I bought a cheaper one prior to this that was so bad I sent it back to the rainforest after trying it once. So spend a bit more and get one that works like this one.
Suppose it would be ok for a a bit of diy or a hobby.
I have used two of the taps and one of the dies and they performed excellently ,
saved me a fortune good quality so far impressed
