Seems to be ok the jubilee clip that retains it could be better. If it had a retained adjuster it would be easier to use when you’re balancing on a ridge tile!

Item was in stock and available for immediate collection. It is exactly as described, and was satisfactorily fitted with a day. It replaces a terracotta cowl, which was causing problems with an inset gas fire because of inadequate clearance of flue gases. The fire now works as it should.

Fitted loads of cowls over the years, these are among the most long lasting and well made. Stainless Steel straps are better than the Ally ones found on others. They fit most pot sizes and stand up well to the heat and smoke. Only had one fail and that had been atop a chimney fire. I would recommend these cowls even for unused flues. They keep birds and weather out, while allowing ventilation.
Had bird guard fitted,was told it was easy and quick to fit, and it was a decent price for what seems a fairly well made piece of kit
