It's a stop tap and works as expected. White plastic well made.
I can only assume that there was a manufacturing error with the one that I bought. After installed for 18 months, hidden away under the kitchen plinth, mine started leaking in the middle of the night and then fell apart when moment I touched it. Utility and kitchen flooded. Zero chance that it was subjected to frost. Not happy!!!
Chose the wrong fitting and exchanged it for a compression fitting which cost ten pounds less with the
difference paid back into my account
,thank you.
New stop cock works perfectly.
Ordered various Hep20 parts and they all arrived without any individual packaging - I assume Toolstation are providing them from multi-packs perhaps because there is currently a shortage? and their multi-packs are being promoted as limited stock. The actual stopcock I received is not as depicted which is a push-fit component - the one received is a previous generation with a screw tightening joint.
This was bought as a direct replacement for one bought 18 months ago which had failed at the screw-threads holding the valve into the body. This happens if the tap is over-tightened when turning off.
A high quality unit. Unlike several other types of stopcock this feels good, looks good, is not cumbersome and performs excellently.
Don't forget to buy a key should you need to disassemble it! This is the only disappointment; at the price it should include a suitable (15mm) key instead of having to pay the criminal fee of nearly £2 for a set. One key in production will cost a matter of a few pence and it is petty not to include one in the pack.
Used to replace an old stiff brass stopcock, easy to fit and much better than original.
