Local, reliable, quick . Excellent when faced with an emergency
Wish I had listened to the reviews but thought as an experienced fitter would manage fine. First issue, this did not come with any locking pins to allow you to tension the gate spring. I wonder if these have been removed due to the feedback about them dislodging easily and at speed with this model. Without these the spring rotates freely and is useless. Also the metal is very soft and of poor quality. The screws provided are slotted drive (should have know when saw them in the package and not bothered opening) and strip rapidly with only using hand tools. In addition, one of the spring rotation shafts was welded to the plate rendering it useless even if you did have locking pins. Please hope you know how to install a gate spring as well, as no instructions are provided. AVOID.

Excellent product although I didn't realise there was two pins in the bag to tighten the top and bottom of the spring tension
Simple and effective. Pack includes dome head screws suited to the brackets. 5* for me but the product doesn’t include any instructions which may be a problem for anybody unfamiliar with the way it works or fitted one previously. A link to a guide on the product description would be beneficial.
Fair enough for the money, but as always the fixings supplied are pure garbage and I cant think of ANY installation where they would be suitable. Still anyone who knows how to do jobs properly will beef up the fixings and they should get away with a relatively good product for the cost.

Works fine tightening one way closes , the other opens
Pin Holes sb straight through however as the pins easily fire off into the sunset if you aren’t careful when use the torsion bar

Not good. It was working fine for the first week however now the spring lost its tension.
Had 2 gates that wouldn’t shout & kept banging in the wind. These are great- sorted!😀
This product is ideal if you have pets.It was a good price.Only problem no instructions as the item has a special way for setting up the springs for the correct tensions to shut the gate.I have fitted several of these items over the years so I have the knowledge on the product .But people who buy a new purchases would not know
The spring looks good but the two little pegs that come with it to adjust the tension are a loose fit and had a tendency to fly out when doing the adjusting. When I say fly out I mean fly out, so much that they were lost in the garden and had to be replaced with two small bolts.
Works well, design of pins to tension spring needs a redesign
A good item for the price, did exactly what I needed to shut a gate so the dog didn’t escape when people left the gate open👍
Excellent heavy spring for gate closure. Our front gate is always being left open by posties or delivery persons, so I thought I'd give these springs a try and haven't been disappointed! The first spring I bought has performed so well that I bought a second for the back gate! Great value for money too. No fixing instructions, but 'How-tos' can be found online. Very simple to install.
Medium to light strength door spring, quite soft metal screws but overall good value for money.
Found this item totally dangerous and not fit for purpose. The holes that the pins locate into were to larger than necessary, combined with the stems of the pins were not long enough. So as I tensioned the spring these pins would leave there location and fly in any direction at speed. After several attempts managed to fire the pins somewhere where I couldn't find them. TOTAL JUNK AND NO INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED.
