The product description claims s that the shears will cut branches up to 40mm. They actually do, with a bit of effort.. Cut through smaller branches with ease. Well priced. Excellent value.
A little heavy and didn’t cut cleanly after some use. I’ve had a few pairs of lopers, I find these heavy and don’t cut too cleanly over all the length of the blade after some use. However they do the job.
The sort of item you wish you'd bought much earlier. These made very easy work of an overgrowing and difficult to manage Laurel hedge bordering with our neighbours. Sharp and can easily cut through 4-5 cms of branch. I haven't used them with the extensions as I never felt the need to, but I tested the length and grip and they feel sturdy when extended. I find Hawksmoor very good value for gardening tools, simple enough designs that work.

Great value!! Some may find them stiff to use, but they cut great!! Have cut branches ½ inch thick and it is like a hot knife through butter 👍👍

Cuts easily through everything I have thrown at it so far, and the extendable handles have been very useful.
Easy to use. Did exactly what was needed for the job
A little fiddly to use and can get a little difficult to open/close.
Blade is effectively on decent diameter wood (4-5cm) but need to position the wood correctly; plus the loppers twist a little on cutting meaning their seize from time to time.
Feel solid, but not sure how long they will last with the twisting evident at the top.
Seem well made, but heavy when extended, biggest problem, you need to open them a long way, to cut slightly thicker branches.

I’ve found these loppers to work well and have a powerful cut. The extending handles are very simple to adjust and are a nice feature. The build quality is fairly good for the price point and bearing in mind you’re unlikely to be using them too often, these should last for years. They are quite heavy which isn’t a problem if you’re doing downward cuts, but overhead work gets a bit tiring after a while. It was for this last point that I deducted one star from my rating. Overall they’re an excellent purchase.
