Okay to get by for a short time but the axe keeps twisting when splitting wood due to the heavy sledge weight on opposing side dragging it sideways.

This is the first log splitter axe that i have used, so I don't have anything to compare it too. I thought it was blunt at first but after watching a few videos on YouTube, I realised my chopping technique was wrong. Once I learnt how to bring the weight down on the log correctly, I was get though logs in no time, including wood that hadn't fully seasoned.
Takes a little getting use to as it weighs a bit, but splits the logs well. It's good exercise and a lot of fun. 😃
Feels like a good quality maul at a good price. Splits well but have had a few issues with it getting stuck despite the claims. Overall worth a buy though
Great bit of kit, already cleared a mass of logs ready for drying. Balance of axe feels good and the weighty head has not been defeated yet! Great exercise workout on a chill December morning.
Light to lift but with the weighted head the strike is powerful, even when just guiding the blow. Used on breaking up significant sized tree roots. As recommended by a stump removal expert.

used on foot longers and splits no sweat whatsoever. sends both chunks flying. not a razor sharp blade but again, couldn't see a problem there. apparently only 1.6kg but doesn't need anymore; possibly designed for greater accuracy.
What can I say, it’s heavy, well designed and perfect for the job it’s designed for! Quite happily smashed through 10 or so wheelbarrows of ringed logs ready for the wood burner. The head is great, cracks logs open like no tomorrow. The handle is strong and soft at the same time not to hard on the hands as it absorbs a certain amount of shock. Would buy again!

Purchased this maul to split a fir tree stump and several elderberry tree stumps. Did the job fine.
