It took just a few minutes to assemble the trimmer and then straight to taking it through its paces. The trimmer is not as substantially built as previous ones I have used however it is a lot lighter which makes it easier to use. Would recommend if your aim to be doing light trimming jobs. Probably not suitable for more serious jobs.
Really bad design, frustrating to use. Everything you want to extend the cutting wire you have to upend it, take off the cover and faff around with the spindle.
Excellent value for money , quality item easy to assemble and use.
The Hawksmoor electric grass strimmer is excellent way better than we expected. It was the staff member that looked it up and told us all about it.Excellent first class service at Toolstation Kilmarnock.
Yeap works a treat, auto feed works well and 2x extra spare spools ideal
To be fair can’t fault for the price. Some good features like the guide wheel and telescopic shaft. The auto feed function is designed so you don’t have to remove the spool every time you need to extend the trimmer line. It has an easy to operate button when pressed in the cable can be pulled out. Worked well for me strimming down the paving slabs and profiling the lawn edge. Personally think some of the negative reviews are not justified and when used properly does a tidy job. Have noticed the nylon line brittle at times but if care and attention paid to where cutting can last well.
Starting to burn out after using couple times. Will be going back soon.
Good material and helpful machine light weight with long wire
Good quality product and works well.
Good build quality.
Used for about an hour.. Nylon line keeps breaking inside spool…. Not automatic line feed as stated in instruction manual… so every time line breaks… off with cover and fish around for line … during the expendition into the inner working of the spool… line unravels off the said spool and is difficult to rewind back into the spool…. Very time consuming…think it will be going back…
Works well, only slight downside is the supplied cutting line kept breaking. Fitted new line to spool.
Does the job as advertised . But plastic cord breaks to easily.
Good value tool 1 weakness the nylon cord is too thin snaps easily. That’s why they give 2extra reels i guess.!?!?
This grass trimmer is lightweight, easy to assemble, and does a great job tidying up edges and hard-to-reach areas. It’s simple to operate and comfortable to handle. The only downside was how quickly the cutting thread broke—it happened a few times during use—but it was easy to fix each time. Overall, a handy tool for keeping the garden neat.
Needed a sturdy strimmer. This own brand one ticked the boxes.
The streamer has twin cutting points, which means it can be difficult to wind the string onto the spool. Needless to say the manufacturer recommends using its prepared spools - more cost for the consumer.
The streamer seems to work well.
Hawksmoor is a British brand but disappointingly the streamer is made in China. Imports, imports and more imports.
Does not self feed. Waste of money on my part and would not recomend
The plastic trimming wire kept on popping out, took it back to Tool Station
Found that the when the line broke in use, that this strimmer does not have an auto-feed function, which I'd missed in the description. Was a real chore having to keep lifting off the spool cover to feed out more line again. Also, this is quite a heavy strimmer generally. Took it back for an exchange strimmer (Black & Decker)...well pleased with that one!
Don't waste your time or money , Used for 30 mins and returned for a refund - Not fit for purpose
