Locking mechanism not easy to secure if there is any plaster board damage on backside after drill breaks through and not always easy to confirm with the drill hole only being 15mm diameter.
When tightening up the screw, it's not easy to know when you have it fully tight and overdoing it can break the fixing.
Will use a different type of fixing next time as not fully confident on security of shelf.
Excellent product and so much better than the alternative plasterboard fixings
Great product, never used before but had some large curtain poles and blinds to put up in new build house. These did the trick 👌 simple and easy to use and come with screws and drill bit. Little expensive compared to normal plugs but worth it as these wont fall out. Ordered from Dudley was ready quickly as always Jo and Dave always quick to get things ready for you.
Used these Yellow Gripit plasterboard fixings to hang some kitchen cabinets. I concluded that 4 of these per cabinet with a total sheer rating of 4*71=284Kg was more than enough for any single cabinet. Very easy to install, although the 15mm drill size was a little awkward. The picture always shows the tabs opened vertically, but this seems illogical as the downward shear force will all be on the top tab. Hence, I fitted mine more horizontally, to even the loading on the tabs.
I had tried other fixings but this was by far the best
The GripIt devices certainly are effective. I used them to hold a tv wall bracket with the 15mm plugs. My only concern was the use of screwdriver to twist the lugs behind the plasterboard as this required enough force to slightly distort the unit. Otherwise week pleased.
These were suggested by Toolstation and was found to be a great buy
I've become a big fan of Gripit plasterboard fixings. I confess to having felt a little nervous in the beginning about the slightly oversized hole required, but this feeling was quickly overcome. They are simple to install and provide lots of confidence. I've used them to fit flfloating shelves to kitchen wall cabinets. Having tried lots of different types of plasterboard fixings, despite the premium price, these are now my 'go to' plasterboard fixings. Furthermore, they're easy to remove, but then there's that hole to fill!
I mounted flush mount brackets to the wall with these and they’re holding the mirror solid
What comes up stays up… We live in a really modern house. The walls are made of cardboard and water. These are the only things that seem to stay up time will tell
Great plug for stud wall used them to hang a 32in TV and bracket no problem
Had problem with old fixing hole for light fitting in ceiling. The hole in the plasterboard had enlarged and my usual fixing method didn't work. Bought GripIt Yellow it and worked perfectly.
Very pleased with these. The oven only shop I could walk into and buy them. They really do work and fit my plasterboard instead of hitting the other partition wall. Friendly staff.
Plasterboard plugs, brilliant product. Great yexhnology.
Found them ok but not worth the price. Ive used better. They fitted ok but when you screwed the middle i found them to be a bit poor quality. Some dodnt work either and they arent cheap to buy.
These work well, ensure hole is clean. To get best hold
Does exactly what it needs do. Handy that it comes with supplied screws too.
Works well easy to fit and fill sturdy when fitted
Handy in the right situation, we used these on a dot and dab wall so if when drilling a pilot hole (Rawl plug size) we found a void then these could be used, we have used other sizes previously as well.
A really neat and strong way and well made way of getting a substantial fixing into plasterboard.
