Excellent latch - very robust - will NOT have to straighten the latch - should last. Ignore the cheap version.
Very well made, heavy duty latch. Choose galvanised as I hope it will last longer. Shame a version for a 2" gate is not available.
Was going to buy the other one, for under £5, but it all looked rather flimsy material. So paid the extra for this one, and it's brilliant. And so much easier to open than those turn the ring type of latch. You can also move it away from the gate jam, saving your knuckles.
The galvanisation isn't the neatest but the construction is certainly sturdy enough. Bought to replace a cheaper product which was so flimsy the horizontal bar bent backwards when the gate was banged shut instead of engaging with the latch. Worth spending a few more quid on this one than the cheapos you'll see.

Returned as did not fit the gate. This was the only reason. It appeared well made with heavy galvanised
The latch itself was ok, but the thing that let it down was that 2 of the screws were missing, which took a bit of time getting other screws to finnished the job, but one done the latch performs well and I would recommend it

A great value, heavy duty gate latch. Easy to install with all the necessary fixings.
It seems to be a nice solid latch and keep. It is to replace the rather flimsy one that kept bending every time the gate slammed shut. Time will tell if this one is better
Poor finish, not worth the money you pay for. The latch has marks all over with a poor galvanised finish with drip marks everywhere
Very good and sturdy product, well finished galavanised dip. Replaced existing 20 year old similar latch, but this is far superior.
Very solid construction, well worth paying a bit extra for this quality. Looked at cheaper ones they were inferior quality and probably wouldn’t last long. Very happy with this purchase
Seems ok quality but only been fitted for a week. Simple enough to fit. Not had any seriously bad weather yet so time will tell if product is good or not.

Galvanised product was very sharp on the handle, not great for something you have to hold could quite easily injure you
Actually a really poor quality product in my view
Metal construct a poor fabrication. Has been hot dipped galvanised (have worked with dioped commodities before) and given a patchy galv coating with galv runs and spikes.
Looks very odd and to my recollection is the 1st item I will return to tool station in >4 years
Fantastic sturdy latch that will last a long time importantly for the latch plate the correct way up as it has a chamfer on the edge to help it ride up and engage the catch hook on the door frame. Get this wrong and the door does not shut as easily or quickly! Great build quality and metal thickness.
Great value, works as expected and good quality for the price.
Replaced a brocken brass latch and I gave it a liberal coat of grease to help it latch easily and last for a long time
