Good quality latch, however, there was a bit of paint chipped off and is now rusting. Also, the holes were countersunk, but the screws were cheese head, which stopped the latch lifting properly. Used a countersunk screw to fix this issue.
Unlike some of the less expensive products you know that this is going to last for years. This latch won’t bend when the gate/door slams shut and the fitting instructions are clear enough for the inexperienced to be confident.
Seems like a solid, robust piece of kit, not flimsy like others I've seen. Time will tell how it fares after a few months in the outdoors...
Easy to fit and has a good operating mechanism, and presently has not shown any wear and tear.
Bought this to replace a flimsy one bought a while ago and it is far superior. At least 3 times thicker and if the gate is push to close the latch lifts and catches perfectly. Previous 2 would bend and so would be constantly have to bend them back. Would definitely buy gatemate products again based on this. Should last a long time.

At last a Suffolk Latch that looks like it will last. Sturdy and reasonably priced.
A sturdy weighty latch that seems to be very good value for money. It hasn't been fitted yet as I'm waiting for handyman.
The Suffolk latch is well made and is supplied with screws. The instructions are not great and would benefit from a diagram and the name of the parts.

Latch is good but the screws supplied are rubbish, rusted in a matter of days. I would recommend the latch but use better screws
Sturdy door latch which was just what we needed to replace old substandard one on back garden gate which failed to stay closed in high winds. Really pleased and excellent value for the price paid.
Easy to install with a 5mm strong steel catch bar. Replacing a latch which bent every time the gate slammed shut... this one doesn't look like it will ever bend! Note: make sure you position the lifter and can press the latch so not scrap your knuckles on the gate post!!!

Product is good. Nice finish and weighty. Instructions are not good. Easy enough to figure it out if you're into DIY but I would imagine not if you're a novice.
