Never used staples before, but with freshly purchased soil for a new garden area, we pushed these in by hand and so far at least we are very pleased
Best way to secure ground fabric, cardboard etc at the allotment. Sturdy and last for years.
I have used these before, good dependable product. Only last time i used the smaller variant (which were bought a couple of months back). I bought the larger ones this time as the smaller ones had increased in price from around £15 to £19.98!! In a few short weeks the price had increased by 33% with no explanation, volume increase or product improvements... come on Toolstation - do better.
I’ve used these for a couple of years to hold landscape fabric especially to protect bare ground over winter. You do need to use plenty as wind can get under the edges of the fabric and pull the whole lot out.
Lately if started using the as anchors for strings supporting tomatoes in the greenhouse.

Very good on softer ground. Get the wider ones if they're the same price as they secure more easily. Used a rubber mallet to tap them into weed barrier.
Bought these to hold down weed membrane. Does the job
Ideal product for securing weed block. Not too good if you have stoney ground.
Easy to use. Clearly they don’t go through stones so there was a bit of trial and error when tapping them in through the soil. Spreading the pins will help them stay in.
Too feeble to penertrate anything but the softest ground

Only any use for soft ground . These are made of the softest material and bend when trying to put them into anything other than soft soil.
These staples are perfect for pinning down mesh on my lawn to protect it from badgers.

Did what it says on the pack and good value for money
Great to pin down weed control fabric and join together overlapping sections. Cost effective to do a large area. They do bend easily though, especially when pushed into stony ground.
I’m a professional gardener and use these all the time, they are ideal for securing weed membrane and I believe cheaper here than elsewhere
Bought around 200 of these, to hold down Polyester Ground Cover Membrane. The staples have chamfered ends, so they pierced the membrane with ease. Appear to have good holding power, as Storm Babet is raging, the grip will be put to the test!
Not a cheap option, but can be manipulated around some obstructions in the ground, and made of sufficiently strong wire to take a rubber hammer without damaging the staples.
