After using a few inline ball valves and suffering some slight weepage occasionally, I decided to try a gate valve from toolstation, spot on, no seepage, total shut off, so changed one other, good decision to change to the gate valves.

Gate valves are known for failure over time and they always go when you really don’t need it! They are NOT my go to for isolation any more but if needed it’s what it is. Picked up a couple to replace two that had sheared off when replacing a pump, as size was almost exact it was an easy replacement and they may never be closed again for many years or until the pump fails! If I had a choice or the pipework could be altered easily then I wouldn’t use these!
