I do like the quality of the product as it is a solid ,sealed structure when core drilled correctly. However I think I was sold a soil pipe snug as it did not fit tightly around the flue I was fitting.
I bought this after seeing reviews and videos on how to install it, but although I measured the pipe itself, I didn't know the size of the part that goes into the wall. Unfortunately, the hole in the wall around the pipe was a lot smaller, so it didn't fit. It's a shame, as the actual rubber fits perfectly over the pipe. So I improvised and cut some of the wall insert off and it now fits. I think it would be useful to have a picture showing the dimensions, so you can measure it properly. Apart from that, it would have been perfect. I can't fault the piece, just that the information should be more detailed.
Good fit to pipe with large flange to cover jagged Brickwork hole .
Details as to the rear/ringed cowling would have been very useful and I'm surprised these aren't detailed in the product's specification. This would have been very useful when establishing if if would recess into the hole drilled out of the masonry where the boiler flue exits.
As the rear cowling's diameter was too large I decided to cut this off (easy with a Stanley knife) as the internal rubber sleeve easily gripped the flue vent and held it in place. Finally I applied external silicone to the inside border to make a better seal against the external wall.
Easy to use does what it is intended to do and a lot easier than sealer or sand & cement
Great stuff. I actually use it for 110mm pipe. It's giving better seal than dedicated 110mm pipe snug.
Perfect for the installation of flue pipes
Make sure that the hole though the brickwork is 6” or the seal won’t fit. I used it anyway by cutting the back bit off but this only makes it look neat and does not provide a seal. I filled the gap around the flu with mortar.
This being designed for 152mm core hole. Means it will be unsuitable for most applications. Especially for existing core holes which tend to be around 120mm. The extra time and effort not to mention the wear on your drill to core a 152mm hole, no thanks.
Finally stopped the rain leaking through! Easy to install excellent fit over flue pipe.
Looks nice and neat but unfortunately fits a 6" or 152mm hole. I've been a heating engineer for 20 plus years and have never known an installer to make a 6" core hole for a 4" flue. Unfortunately had to return mine. I would have given higher ratings for value performance and reliability but it was sadly unsuitable and I was unable to use it.
