Great auto welding helmet at a good price yes it's basic but it does what it's designed to do.
needed to do a small job of welding and this was just the job and reasonable priced very happy
This screen served a purpose of getting me out of a tight squeeze whist on my travels without my own helmet. Worked a treat and happy with its performance.
When my welding helmet stopped working, it took me a while to realise why the arc was brighter than usual. 5pm Friday night mid job and almost cheapest, in stock, mask was this one. Worked straight out of the bag, happy with it.

After working out how to put it together and using the “expertise “ of my Wife, the helmet was great for my limited ability to weld.
Now supplied fully assembled - previous reviews state that the head strap had to be fitted to helmet and that instructions were a bit vague. Used a few times to make weld repairs to vehicle and works really well. View of work is very good both before and during welding when the mask darkens.
Good value for the money, works as it should. Can’t complain whatsoever, it is for occasional use only
Had a very basic welding helmet beforehand but was getting frustrated with it. Bought this - best thing I ever did. Some people find the assembly a problem and it’s true - the instructions don’t resemble the actual assembly but it took me about 5 minutes to fit the head harness.
Works a treat - first arc and it darkens no problem. Wish I’d bought one in the first place as for me, a newby DIY welder it is spot on.

The strap cradle and adjusters aren't fitted so you have to self assemble which is a little tricky because instructions aren't very clear but besides that it's an excellent mask
Fantastic product. Does exactly what it’s meant to. Comfortable to wear. Many people mentioned it was tricky to put together but it was pretty straight forward.
This face and eye shield is remarkable no more up and down and trying to ark in t by e dark it changes from clear to protective shade so Quickly it’s brilliant.
The helmet works very well. It responds quickly and it's easy to adjust the darkness and speed of response. As others have said, fixing the headstrap is slightly awkward. I suggest making careful note of the order and orientation of the various fixing pieces so that you can be sure they go back in the correct order. Also the piece with a square side fits directly into the square hole on the inside of the helmet and the the pieces outside of that all fit on the outside of the helmet. It's also worth leaving the pieces on one side while you do the first, to be doubly sure of the order in which they fit.
Does the job a treat after you workout how to fit and adjust the head strap but having said the it does come at a low price

Helmet Sturdy enough and good quality.
Downside is attaching the headband. No clear instructions or drawing, takes a while to work out how to fit all the parts correctly.
Found it possible to assemble the head strap assembly to the helmet. It comes disassembled.
The instruction exploded view in the accompanying leaflet is no use. Range the manufacturer and the person I spoke with agreed that it was "fiddly".
Returned it to Toolstation for a refund with no problem.
I bought this as a first-time welder as a cheap option to see if I'd use something like this. It does what i meed very well. The auto diming function works well allowing me to see the area before welding, and then dims instantly when stiking an arc, then allowing me to see what im welding clearly.
My only minor concern is hownlong the mask might last, as the head strap is fairly flimsy. But absolutely what I'd expect at this price.
