My rating is for the website not the product. No mention that this mortar requires a non standard sealant gun, which I don't have, is not sold by Toolstation and costs approximately £50
Excellent product, easy to use, goes off quickly and sets rock hard
Product is great, but beware, if using the larger size, this comes in a larger diameter tube which will require a suitably sized gun to enable use.....don't assume its the same size as typical mastic tubes, or indeed the smaller Fischer Vinylester
You need a coaxial gun to us this material
I have used this two part resin product on two separate occasions for bonding 12mm steel re-bar dowels into concrete footings. There are three main points I would make for the DIY person. 1. The product comes in a larger diameter tube which needs a special size heavy duty steel application gun, and you need to buy that in addition. 2. The product will set extremely fast on hot Summer days so you have to work really quickly with it. On cool days it sets more slowly. 3. It comes with only one mixing nozzle and this will block up quickly with set resin on fast setting days. So you need to buy more nozzles in addition. 4. The resin really does get hold of the steel and gives a really strong bond inside the drilled concrete hole provided that you blow out the hole with compressed air to remove all the dust first. It does the job very well. I keep my special resin gun clean for future jobs.
Not the cheapest, but very good. Been using this for a while to secure anchors for rock climbing and it is great. Reasonbly fast cure time is a bonus
I have used Fischer products before with no issue. But this went off while I was using it and 80% wasted as nozzle went solid almost immediately. 1/2 way down nozzle is where it started mixing?… possibly bad nozzle…. I Need to return this….
A fair price for a good product that does what it says on the cartridge.
You will need a resin gun to use this resin tube. A spare nozzle if you want to use a bit at at time. I found this resin did not set after 24hrs.
Used this to secure reinforcement bars into concrete foundation, worked really well providing you follow the instructions
Good product, flows well through mixer tube and gives strong bond, make sure you have the correct gun for it a standard skeleton gun will not work with it.
Used for property renovation to secure and infill damaged brickwork and plaster walling.Make sure you buy extra nozzles if only using part of the tube as product cures quickly...Easy to apply but requires catridge gun unique for these tubes.
Bought this a couple of weeks ago. I presume it does the job for which it is intended but it's too large for my current caulk gun, and when I asked if it needed a particular gun the guy at the store had no idea. Will be returning.
We wanted to put up some thick and heavy oak shelves, in the kitchen, but I was concerned that as the wife wanted them invisibly hung and to hold a lot of large Kilmer jars, that the fixative wouldn’t be strong enough.
This was recommended to me by a relative who is renovating his property. It’s brilliant!
You do get what you pay for...this is not cheap and the nozzles are more expensive than the normal ones, BUT you need them as the two compounds inside are mixed as they flow down the nozzle.
A few things we found out:
• Have all the holes drilled and rods, bolts etc to hand as this goes off very quickly (including inside the nozzle).
• Buy an extra nozzle (or more). It’s annoying if you have to stop to pop to store for another!! (From experience...)
• Wipe off an excess with wet cloth immediately, as it sets like mortar!!
Thoroughly recommend and would definitely buy again.
I bought this to repair cracks in non structural brickwork. To use it i also had to purchase a bespoke applicator gun. It's a brilliant product that filled the cracks and strengthened the wall overall, I have since purchased 3 more tubes to repair other cracks that I wouldn't normally have bothered with.
