I bought this to replace an identical one that had decided to alarm continuosly without any sign of smoke or anything, luckily after we had gotten up, very, very loud.
It failed after a year, fitted new batteries as it was doing the single beep, indication low batteries. I tried several different types of batteries, including the recommended but it never stopped doing the single beep every minute. Test alarm button also didn't work so now it's going to recycling. Very poor
Great little smoke alarm, this us the second one I have had. First one just stopped working after about 3 years. So good for the price and does the job

Very neat and unobtrusive smoke alarm. Easy to fit with the fixings provided, even the battery was included. Very loud piercing alarm. I would happily buy a similar alarm in the future.
It beeped when button was pressed. However done nothing when it was covered in smoke to test it. Took it back to store. Young staff member was very helpful. Grumpy fat grey haired staff member just said 'Why would you put smoke near it?'.

I use tool station as they have everything I need right there it’s easy to use click and collect as my store is two mins walk from me the staff are always helpful with making sure I’ve got the right tools for the job
Works well but a tiny bit small but does the job OK.
Good price, only purchased last week but so far okay..
I bought a couple of these a year ago and they started to go off for no reason, so I replaced them only to get the same issue. It turns out that they are prone to getting dust inside the case which will set off the alarm for a few seconds. Vacuuming sorts the problem out, so you need to periodically clean the unit, maybe only a couple of times a year will be enough.
I should have read the instructions before buying new smoke alarms.
Apart from this issue, which probably affects optical smoke alarms generally for all I know, they are perfectly good devices.
Fitting can be a bit fiddly - you need to screw the back plate on to the ceiling the right way up, then push the detector on to it and twist to lock it in place. It can be tricky to align the unit correctly before you can turn it.
These points are why I've taken 2 stars off.
They do have a mute facility when the alarm goes off, if you press the test button for a few seconds.
A small neat alarm, can't say about longevity yet. Being smaller than normal it leaves decoration problems. Tiny fixings needed as supplied but not the best design for fixing and doesn't feel secure.
A mini smoke alarm with a big sound. A replacement for an outdated larger unit. It looks & sounds good.
It's a bit smaller than our old one, but that doesn't matter as long as it works. We won't find that out until create some smoke. (Hopefully not)
