Re-assuring old school feel, how brass should be.
Excellent value and quality when there is a lot of cheap plated rubbish available. The latch plate is not the one shown in the picture but shaped like the end of the catch, which is better. Spring mechanism feels positive and sharp and engages with the latch plate with a positive click.
Good catch
Solid good looking catch, nice movement.
Easy to operate. Used as a loft hatch catch, working well still after 6 months.
The fanlight catch is great quality, not exactly as in pictures but dose the job just fine.

A Brass Fanlight Catch
A quality product easy to install.
These catches are good and solid
This is the second of these catches I have fitted and it is very straightforward, basically just four screws. Of course your loft hatch needs to be hinged downwards, and that is something else to consider. These catches are good and solid, and the first one I fitted has been operating faultlessly for at least nine years. The little brass plate with the central hole, for the catch/bolt to click into, may come with a small extension at one side. The chamfer of the bolt strikes this when you close the hatch, and it is a good feature. Unless you are pretty tall you will need a hook on a bit of broomstick to operate the bolt. Nice brass hooks are available, but for some reason you can't buy one from Toolstation, at present.

Solid piece of kit and well worth the money. Looked much more robust than the latch I was replacing.
Difficult to retract bolt
It is a sturdy, nice looking item but very difficult to retract the bolt. I hope some filing will fix it. Suggest manufacturer be instructed to improve quality control before shipping.
Very poor quality
The item that was delivered did not work, very poorly manufactured, and the catch is completely different to the catch in the picture in the catalogue and on the website. Not up to the usual Tool Station standard.
