The flange is easy to install and works perfectly well

I understand that the Essex flange is a proprietary patented part, and I'm unaware of alternatives.
The existing one on my 1960s hot water cylinder failed and was leaking water - it seems to have been installed improperly about 40 years ago.
My plumber said he hadn't found an Essex flange in stock. I told him that Toolstation had them - we agreed I'd buy one and he fitted it correctly. Most younger plumbers hadn't fited Essex flanges and were loathe to and/or wary of doing so. My plumber said he'd last fitted an Essex flange 20 years ago.
My hot water cylinder is no longer leaking water since this 15mm Essex flange has been fitted.
Easy to fit... Read the instructions. Make sure you use the correct size holesaw or you'll struggle. Failing that you can't go wrong..

Purchased two Essex flanges to replace two that were leaking after twenty five years! Design has improved as flange and washers are now larger, however this means the body is larger so does not easily fit existing holes and it is difficult, though not impossible with the use of a cone file, to increase the hole size!
Price wasn't the best but as they were needed quickly the delivery time was best available at the time.
This is a very easy flange to fit to the hot water ta k for pump supplies. You don’t have to gain any additional access to fit it. Just mark, cut the right size hole and fit as per the instructions. Quick and simple.
