These little catches, in a packet of 10 pairs, do their job well. I would have preferred it if they had slotted screw holes on one half, so that the tension could be adjusted once they were fitted.

Sturdy and simple catch, comes in two parts, very simple to fix and operate. 10 leaves lots of spares for future ventures. The clasp hold steady even under pressure of 5kg load, and remains fastened under zero load.
Very sturdy and compact, also cheap. It has holes about 2mm diameter through the lever and frame so that it can be wired shut. There is no overlapping tongue to keep the two parts aligned if the items they are fixed to can move in and out, and such movement could open the toggle. The shape lets the fixing screws sit well back from the edge of the timber, reducing the risk of splitting. The picture is irrelevantly misleading, The main part is rotated 180degrees. I cannot get that shape without dismantling the toggle and re-assembling, and it wouldn't work like that anyway.I'll try to add photos

Bought to replace failed catches on the underside of a table leaf. These work perfectly and had the right size screws in my toolbox to fit them (none provided). Need to make sure you set the catches far enough apart if installing upside down that there's tension in the catch when closed to avoid it falling open
