I have a small sink cabinet and my waste pipe is high, 70s built property. This lends itself to that situation.
As other reviewers have suggested, this is a flimsy bit of kit . Clever design but very lightweight. I have it fitted and so far it hasn't leaked. Whether it will meet the approval of the Building Inspector, I have yet to find out. If it doesn't, it will go straight back.
The connection for the dishwasher is smaller than the standard pipe size so have some tape and a jubilee clip or two handy as well... just in case.
to be fair - it is cheap but I would happily pay more for the same design better made.
If if were a professional plumber, I would not be happy fitting this to a customers sink as long term it does not inspire confidence. However, it is marvellously compact.
Really good make sure you use PTFE on the sink outlet
Great idea but poor quality plastic and assembly! I had to reseal mine and use plumbers mate!
I fitted this an it leaked straight away from the large seal at the bottom no amount of adjustment would fix it. looks good to reduce wasted space under a sink but doesn't do the job. If you buy one test before fitting to avoid frustration.
Sad to say I simply can’t recommend this, despite the concept being great and fantastic for space saving. Unfortunately the cost cutting in material spec has left it unfit for purpose. This could have been resolved at a slightly higher price point that would still make this a competitive option for those interested in the space. I’d have paid around 30% more for higher quality. The main problem stems from the lack of rigidity of the material. Coupled with the shallow threads on the bottom cap, it’s left with little chance of compressing the rubber seal sufficiently to guarantee a watertight finish. The flexibility and shallow threads results in distortion to the point it skips / jumps threads when tightening. A slightly more coarse thread / very slightly longer thread would assist along with increased rigidity. Resolve this and it would be an excellent product. As it is it’s unusable and I really wanted to leave more stars for the concept.
Cheap and very nasty. Locking ring goes out of shape when it tightens up to the point it jumps threads
This was a recommended trap made by our bathroom supplier for a free standing bath. I can 100% say that this product is Awful. I have been fitting bathrooms for over 15 years and I have never fitted a trap as bad as this. The product leaked on manufactures seal and the only way I could get this to seal is gunk it in silicone which is awful and looks unprofessional.
I should have read the reviews before purchasing but it was recommended and I was running out of time.
Never again.
Bought it to replace an old one easy to install fits either left or right
Excellent Value, saves space in the cupboard and available on a Sunday
Flat shape allows us to use a full drawer under our sink and without having to cut out wood from the back of the drawer for a U bend. Very good. Sink drains as it should.
Very difficult to seal the trap ended up having to use silicone to seal it up, would have returned but the size was perfect
Works great for space saving to accommodate a customer with a wheelchair / leg room.
The only issue I had was the trap seal was passing slightly but got round it with a bit of paste to sort the seal.
Only purchased to replace an Identical item. New one had manufacturing fault and leaked. Cost several hours labour and in the end fitted a better made trap.
Great product keeps under the sink look really tidy and saves space. I use these on every job and have never had a problem.
Looks the part but could be partial to blockages, only time will tell
Poor quality and requires care and mastic ad a precautionary measure prior to fitting. It does save space so can be worth the hassle.
Can't give a proper review because the inlet for this trap was too big for the outlet on my basin. The problem is that the sizes given for waste pipes are a joke, it's seemingly impossible to know what size you need without matching parts up next to one another. It may be useful if Toolstation published some kind of guide on their website.
