The lock (Gearbox) works just fine but there is no additional information available eg overall dimensions, associated products / product options. The dimensions are really important as this thing is way bigger than my door. Turns out I only really needed what I now know is called the gearbox ... which no one had on stock but only costs about £30.
This item was sold as a replacement for a specific model. It is not a specific but a kit to adapt to your own needs. I was in need of a replacement I could fit. This needs a variety of tools and skills involved in measuring and cutting steel to fit. I was in an emergency situation with a jammed lock on the exising door and 48 hours to fix it with limited tools. I ended up changing the supplied gearwork and keeping all the rest of the original door mechanism. 75% of this kit went in the bin.
Did not fit my door so had to return it, looked like it had already been returned by some one as screws where in a zip seal bag. I couldn't interlock the bits together,it looked really cheap and flimsy.
Easy enough to fit, instructions are a little brief but easy enough to understand.
The one I received top bracket was broken, this was written on the box and staff made me aware before taking it. Unfortunately I needed it there and then as the one in my door was broken.
I was able to repair and fit it easily enough.
Tools I used:
Angle grinder (can use hand saw) to cut bars.
Drill and 12mm bit - to enlarge previous cut holes in door (router would probably be better)
Screw drivers.
Does not come with a barrel for anyone wondering. I had a new one to hand, but you can use the old one.
My kitchen door started to jam due to a broken center mechanism ratchet. Searched the ERA website and found this kit. Shopping online for the part number I found Toolstation with a best price and they were in my town. You have to be careful measuring and cutting the hook extensions but 2 hours later I had saved buying a new door.
It took a bit of fitting but successfully replaced old obsolete lock on wood door/frame
Easy to install, but a bit expensive for a lock .
The package arrived exceptionally fast. Top job .item as it should be.
