Bought this on recommendation from the local decorating centre to freshen up all the woodwork in our house. Goes on well with a brush or roller, dries quickly and tools easy to clean. However, I've given four stars as we have suffered a couple of chips from slight knocks so surprised that it's maybe not quite as hard wearing as we hoped. Will keep using though.
This is great paint. It's so easy to you. No need to prime the wood and the brushes clean up after by just using water. Time will tell - I'm hoping the paint will not yellow like other paints in the past.
Excellent product easy to use and cleaning brushes is so easy
First time using it. I got it for my doors. I have to say, it's good.
I loved the fact that I was able to put two coats of paint on the doors, on the one day.
Start early and got the first coat on. Left it, came back that evening and got the
second coat on. That's them finished. I'm a Happy Woman.
It’s not good enough…there are better products out there. I haven’t used this particular product for many years but had to use recently because it’s all I could get hold of quickly. It’s simply not good enough, it’s as bad as I remember from around 5/6 years ago, coverage is poor at best. Thought that’s have improved this by now but unfortunately not. I wouldn’t use it again as everything needed an additional coat which it wouldn’t have had I used Aqua Guard.
Trade Diamond Satinwood is faster drying than the fast drying satinwood - its quality is outrageously good, its like its made out of granite you can literally scrub it, and i do mean scrub rather than wash, coverage is excellent as is application, so whilst it is expensive, for what your getting it represents great value
I have tried several white satin products, but for me this is the best one that I have used. Use the Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat for coverage, then top coat with this for a perfect even finish and a super hard wearing finish too. It also hardens off quick compared to some others on the market.
Goes on well, but as others have said, is prone to runs, especially if there are any surface imperfections. Looks good, with a nice level of sheen. People have commented on the high quality of finish. Time will tell on durability as this is in a corridor, subject to moderate traffic. What let this down is the colour - this was a tinted shade, that at best was an approximation of the colour on the shade card. Not for the first time I have been unimpressed by the accuracy of the widely used tinting systems. As a former developer of industrial tinting systems, I know this shouldn't be the case.
You will need 3+ coats over oil based white. Seems to run a lot. Easy to clean up, and low odour.
The paint if kings. Great finish but likes to drip
Diy'er review. This stuff is fantastic. Used this previously and used leyland trade in some rooms. The Layland stuff turned yellow (oil based) the rooms i did in this are still bright white.
This is my second tin. Its expensive but worth it for not having to redo skirting all the time. Oh and washes off brushes witj water - BONUS!
Excellent quality excellent coverage excellent application
Fantastic product , definitely use again and bonus this is water based
I bought this for what I thought was a simple redec of doors. Customer insisted on using this. What an absolute nightmare. Went on like treacle but didn’t cover anything. I’ve used many water based satin finish paints and this is by far the worst. Don’t waste your money
Gorgeous paint, lays on easily, and two coats worked a treat painting old pine wood for a console table. The colour mixing was excellent (DH grass green). I was a disappointed in the sheen after it dried— as a satinwood I expected more sheen but this looks more like an eggshell. Not a big problem as I was going to have to put a protective layer of poly on top, and I used a gloss finish, but still disappointing.
Love this product, goes on like a dream not to mention it ts perfect for a busy family home prone to knocks and scuffs
Flows nicely with good coverage happy with the results
Good range of paints and colours, good price with fantastic quick delivery
Very liquid paint, not good coverage. They say 2 coats are enough but I needed 4 to paint primed doors, and still is not great. Not happy at all with the quality.
not sure about finish, its no different to the standard trade white satinwood. Definitely not work the extra money.
