Converting a normal Rad to a Towel Radiator using this elbow. On the radiator trying to get it sitting at the right angle and knowing the rubber seal is doing is job isn't easy. I ended up with one of them having to really tighten it alot to straighten it up and this had made the seal bulge. On another it semi loose fit so just hoped loads of PTFE on this side would help. To be fair, the seal seems todo it's job in both cases.
Fitting to radiator tails was abit of a pain. TIP use 15-20 wraps of PTFE in the clockwise direction and the you'll be Golden.
Good quality, fitted nicely, not a bad price and good service from this Tool Station
Bought two of these at separate times as the first was not sturdy enough as snapped off on the thread then had to recover the thread inside the radiator
Bought another and that snapped as well!
Suspect the rubber washer integral is not sealing where it should and having to over tighten to stop a leak then the inevitable happens and snaps at the thread
Ok, my fault trying to overtighten to ensure seal but unit snapped leaving threads in radiator. Porr cast brass.
Fitted perfectly, looks good, did the job, would recommend.
This product was very good, the quality of the chrome is good and the casting/cut of the thread is very hood
Good neat way to get your rad valves in a more natural position on towel radiators.
Not needed for this job but an excellent product, well finished
Made what could have been a difficult job so much easier.
Providing your valves hold (when turned off) this makes changing a conventional radiator to a heated towel rail a very easy job
I got this to create an angle for my shower hose connection in my new shower. I used the o ring as a seal on the other end and the shower hose screwed on to the other end perfectly. Works a treat with a bit of PTFE tape on the threads!
It worked. Good value. Well made.
good quality use with dual fuel tee to keep pipes symmetrical
A little know use of this is on bath mixer/shower taps where the shower hose connection comes out of the underside of the spout. This is a neat right angle connector so you can route the shower hose more sensibly than it dangling into the bath. It's not a smooth flow of course so the turbulence perhaps loses some flow but it looks nice on a chrome tap. You need to ptfe the tap joint to get a good seal. The hose joint is ok with the standard hose washer.
