10/10 Excellent definitely will by again! Many Thanks
Ordered from Toolstation as cheapest around. Choose this syetm as it is the easiest to install of all the wireless systems i looked at (Hive was really complicated!!) was really simple, just used the backing plate and wired power to it, added the switching wire from each (wired) thermo in the current install and job done.
Easy to fit/install, fast set-up and good antwhere control of heating and hot water.
The best option for a home without a internet router as we use a mifi so this doesn't need to be hard wired to the router using a cable
Simple to wire only needing 4 wires for a dual circuit heating system
Didn't need the water circuit as wired into a combi boiler
The kit is very reasonably priced and after setting up works. But it's far from the easiest kit to configure compared to stuff like Tado, and they don't support Apple HomeKit. That being said, only the Drayton Wiser controllers support 3 channels.
One of only two options I could identify (the other being the Honeywell) that could cope with 3 channel (x2 heating plus hot water tank), but the Wiser has less intrusive iTRVs. As another reviewer says, the instructions are pretty rubbish (I spent ages pressing and holding the setup button, when a quick push was all that was required to start the wifi pairing process). I had to change the backplate as my old ESi programmer had 8 pins on the backplate, and none of the pinouts were the same! It didn't take too much to figure out, but my gas man wasn't happy to do the electrical install, so I had to DIY it! The old room thermostats needed the switch wires connecting together to complete the circuits.
I've got this installed with 12 iTRVs, which covers the majority of rooms in the house, and needed a minimum of 2 smart plugs as range extenders (I've actually ended up with 3) as the old programmer was located too far from upstairs rooms on the other side of the house. Note that only 6 devices can connect to a range extender at any one time.
I've also recently installed a Bosch EasyControl setup in another house - the app interface on that is better, if you've got a Worcester Bosch boiler!
Brilliant bit of kit but the instructions could be better, only by poking around in the app could I get it right for my home. (No mention of how to set channels in a multi zone system). However, it’s extremely flexible and controllable, it’s great.
