We used this to extend the Wiser Smart heating system in our house. Although each smart Radiator TRV is its own thermostat you can group multiple TRV's into one room and control them all from one of these
Works well with the wiser system, easy install and commissioning
Works as expected. Display only lights up when buttons are pressed to save battery.
Shows RH% which is good, but not available in app.
Expensive for what it is
Grate value from Toolstation. Purchases for my bedroom much more accurate temperature control then just using the wiser radiator thermostat
Awesome of these before as part of a new central heating installation. The thermostats themselves work fine I've just got a slight Glitch with my heating at the moment but don't anticipate any problem when that's fixed. Extremely good price from Toolstation as these room thermostats cost nearly double if you buy from the manufacturer! Don't know why something this small should cough nearly £100!
Works without problem connected without issue and handy
This a further addition and completes my Wiser central heating control system giving individual control to the temperature in each room. So easy to fit to an existing central system and even easier to control from my iPad and phone. I can even check and control whilst on holiday!
I have two of these, if you want to fully control the temperature room to room/have things entirely different temperatures forget thinking you can use one thermostat and trv’s in every other room only, I’ve tried it and it’s hopeless, as is often the criticism with trv’s they are affected by the close proximity to the rad, wiser say they are calibrated to allow for this but it wasn’t my experience, the rad comes on, the trv thinks the place is like oven, stops the heating, rad cools down, trv realises the room is still very cold..turns the heating on..and so on, I used my old thermostat unconnected to see the room temperature, I found using the trv it could be 8 degrees out! So, if you’ve lots of rooms..budget for …£150 per room? For a stat and a trv head (more if you need the trv body) once you’ve paid this..you’re good to go. I heat an air bnb room and my own room so this allows me to tune it to what suits them without affecting my own comfort(overnight particularly/I sleep pretty hot). Very handy you can lock manual controls on any stat you choose (often guests with a cool room will just keep their finger on the button and not tell you the crazy setting they’ve arranged!) I find the humidity feature useful also, you can check outside humidity via online weather and see if it makes sense to open windows if it’s high, pity room’s humidity doesn’t appear on app, could be handy to let you know if tenants aren’t venting a space sufficiently remotely. The controls are simple but I tend to use the app. Looks good, small, subtle branding SQUARE CORNERS (so sick of roundy stuff!) easy enough to mount or has a stand if you want it on a desk/moveable.
I have most rooms and radiators now controlled by the wiser smart products. Allows me to control heat in individual rooms with the App and saving loads by being able to easily turn off rooms which are not being used.
Overpriced, slow device lacking functionality and ease of control. Unfortunately it is an essential part for Wiser control system and cannot be avoided.
Good quality product. Easy setup install.
Wiser is a great inexpensive heating control system. The components are easy to set up and use. Hopefully it will evolve to become a complete home automation system.
