Waste of money - wish I had read reviews first! Does not matter how much you tighten the thumbscrew to secure the nail, it loosens off within seconds of starting to use. Don't think this has been tested at design stage to see if it actually works.
Not great, nail moves easily in use even when tightened up fully by hand, feel a bit let down by it
Easy to use if the mortar is a soft mix, clamping screw could be larger
This was ordered by mistake so never used, returned with out an issue
Tightening nut at the top has become smaller now than previous model bought last year and can only be finger tightened and the nail becomes loose very quickly unless using an adjustable spanner to tighten which isn’t always at hand where I am working so it’s very frustrating raking the lime out the beds and joints, especially because auld Alan the guy I work with keeps somehow acquiring my only adjustable spanner and it always ends up in his tool pale, if I were to buy another one I would need to make sure I buy an adjustable spanner at the same time😕make the nut bigger again and I’d happily give yous 4 possibly 5 stars for it😊
The pin that’s supposed to take the mortar wouldn’t stay in. I ended up using a fitting for an angle grinder instead.
Not sure if this was ever useful. Tried it for a bit then gave up.
The Draper Mortar Joint dose not hold the nail in well it more very easy when you are taking the old mortar out.
Works well but the nails don't last long and this only comes with one. I recommend getting some spare masonry nails to go with this purchase, luckily I had some lying about.
The retaining handle did not hold the nail in position. The nail broke after about 2 hours of use. (only supplied with one nail)
Not the best quality, the nail doesn't stay in space dispite being as tight as it can. The screw has has to be held in place with my thumb.
Really useful for taking mortar out of an old wall - ended up rolling some tape for the nail to stay - if you are going to use a lot recommend buying extra nails - very happy with this!
Terrible, the thumb screw will not stay locked so the nail rattles free almost straight away, a flat screw driver was far better.

The idea is good but would need a better quality nail as the one provided last 30 mins and has been used in soft lime.
