Liked design features such as finger guard and clip however screwdriver tip flimsy and disintegrated when attempting to undo screw. Mains tester works but quite difficult to see as not very bright

Didn’t work. It should light up when you touch the screwdriver against a live source while holding the metal button at the top. It didn’t light up. This makes it potentially lethal if you were relying on it when working with mains voltage - it would tell you a wire was not live when it was.

The picture doesn't match actual item. Tester grip is round, older version was square. As I suffer from muscle weakness I could grip way better on old version. Otherwise easy to use, reliable tool.
Poor quality, broke after a couple of uses, not recommended.

I was quite underwhelmed by this tester. I only purchased it because I needed to test and fix a heater for someone and didn’t have my tools with me.
Went to Toolstation and bought this and a few essentials for the job.
The tester didn’t illuminate when there was 240v present in the connection.
Anyway, the flat blade screwdriver was useful to tighten the live connection block, so not all bad, I got the heater repaired.
I don’t think I could recommend this as an electrical tester, but it tightens terminal block screws okay 👍🏼
Get the non contact electrical tester instead.
Worked well, well made. The staff in Thetford Toolstation are a brilliant, so helpful and polite.
Purchased this item to help with checking wiring, but despite following instruction, I was unable get the item to work. Forced then to purchase a more expensive LAP circuit tester which actually works well, Didn’t bother to return item as travel across Gloucester is a pain !
