I had a problem whilst installing new control arms into new bushings on my 2003 Cooper S; the inner ball joint would not sit correctly to allow the control arm to fit “home”. I used one of these ratchet straps, fitted between a hole in the control arm and the exhaust mounting plate, to squeeze the control arm into the bushing the final couple of millimetres required. Within minutes, the job was done!
