Service was brilliant - even ordering online now. The hinges work perfectly - thank you one and all
Good quality product easy to install but could do with instructions on how to wind spring
These are absolute rubbish, fitted 4 to a 35kg hollow door on a restaurant kitchen and didn't last 24hours, snapped spring on 2 of them, taking back for a refund
Used it on a part glazed oak veneer door, does the job if used properly, these i think are used for half doors, (so for light weight half doors) on a full 30 inch door i used 3 hinges ( 2 at top 1 at bottom)
Cracked up to max torque and they work perfectly. Really i think a full size oak door requires 4 of these hinges
Its a better design on the hinge pins than the previous ones I replaced - bought from Toolstation 5 years ago
Fiddly adjusting the tension
If your door is a crappy light weight hardboard door with cardboard inside, then this hing might just work. I bought them for a solid soft wood timber door I think my cheese sandwich would have made a better hinge
Not the strongest hinges to use on a full size solid door, 3 are needed, or the tendency is to over tighten the spring, which can ruin it.
I bought this a week ago and already not working correctly - very bad quality! Taking them back today.
Anything heavier than a louver door forget about it.
Good hinges, just make sure the door isn't too heavy.
No instructions but easy enough to figure out. Just pull out the studs. Screw into door frame, then screw into door. Use heavier screws than supplied. Tighten up springs with tool supplied then lock with studs.
Not a good Quality hinge and the screws were to soft also no instructions
I bought 4 set of hings recently, they were not work properly,
I bought this to enable my Dad's bathroom door open both ways in case he moved the 'steady' which is used to move him around, and blocked the door. The door was a heavy fire rated door so I had to use two pairs, three at the top, and one low down, all wound up to max load so as to carry the door weight, but they do the trick. They are not the prettiest, being just painted steel, and they creak a bit in use but have meant that the carers are never prevented getting access. So, good if all you need is a basic double acting hinge, but not if you want something to look classy.
Screws were so soft that 2 snapped when tightening by hand, even using tallow.
Buy from proper ironmongers and avoid disappointment.
