I have always steered towards 2 stroke petrol power when choosing a strimmer or hedge cutter not any more this did the job much better quicker and quieter than a petrol equivalent and only needed to charge the battery once to do to do front and back garden of a medium size I will be sticking with dewalt for my garden from now on

I did what I always do with any purchase and went round and round in circles, overthinking everything and reading far too many reviews! I shouldn't have worried at all. This is an EXCEPTIONAL piece of equipment. Due to my overthinking, I was worried it wasn't going to be powerful enough and I'd have "buyers regret", but after biting the bullet and buying this (irrespective of those fears) I have to say, I am massively impressed, even after 1 strumming session! The machine feels well-built. It's easy to assemble and Toolstation were fantastic when ordering and collecting. The main thing though, and the reason I felt compelled to write this review, is that this strimmer is MOST DEFINITELY "powerful enough"!!! I used my old 5ah battery to begin with (not wanting to use the new one) and it absolutely ripped through everything I threw at it! Brambles, long (and wet) grass, nettles, all of it no problem. And the best bit... I did all of that on it's "low" setting. I didn't feel the need to crank it up to "high" at any point, as it was more than capable on low. Long story short... If you're anything like me and keep thinking "should I, shouldn't I" then my advice is just to go for it! It really is a fantastic bit of kit and I saw no difference to my old petrol strimmer in terms of performance. Last thing to add. I spent more money on some Oregon "special" trimmer line, but I needn't have bothered, as the DeWalt line it came with is more than strong enough for anything I threw at it!
Great bit of kit, should have brought one sooner. No more struggling to get the petrol motor started!

A well built, surprisingly powerful trimmer. Would benefit from a harness when used for periods longer than 20 minutes. However for the cost, and efficiency, definitely a good buy.
This is a great tool. It's more powerful than I thought it would be and folds for easy storage. The line dispensing spool works well and is easy to load.
disappointing to be honest, use all dewalt tools and this is one we are not happy about purchasing

Really good strimmer. Variable speed trigger. Low and high power switch. And when you get the model I got with a charger and 5ah xr battery for £50 extra you get an offer from DeWalt for a free impact driver worth £60 or more. Quids in.
Light and easy to use. Bought to replace unreliable petrol strimmer. Strips well on low power setting, really pleased with the tool, with the ease of use will keep my garden tidier
Really good. Very impressed at how powerful it is. Only issue is the balance isn’t good. But if you place the handle under the fold then it’s ok.
Lightweight, easy to use, takes the same batteries as my drill, lasts a long time before battery needs recharging, works well and is a great strimmer.
Easy to assemble and collapse down.
Could do with a hook to attach a harness.
I used a couple of cable ties to attach a harness which certainly helps to make long use more bearable.
Battery lasts well.
