After fully charging the battery that came with it I used the hedge cutter for 1 hour and still had 50% charge left. lightweight and balanced to use and cut through all hedging with upto 2 years growth.
The on off switch was difficult and fiddly to use with thick gloves on so used a thinner glove on the hand that held the switch leaving the thicker glove on the hand bar at the front as that was likely to get the thorns stuck in it. The cutting bar is a good length and didn't get any branches stuck in it whilst in use.
A bit unsure whether to go Cordless after my previous unit failed after many years of decent service. However, the battery life on my new Dewalt trimmer is excellent. An excellent buy which I can recommend.
Fairly lightweight long enough to get a decent amount cut in one go, cuts 25mm diameter twigs/branches, coped well with a thick tangled hawthorn hedge. Battery charges quickly although used a 4 amp one I already had. Seems to be robust. Works better than another brand's corded trimmer I already had. Is it value for money? Can get cheaper models. This worked out of the box and did what I wanted it to. Three year warranty once registered.
Cuts really well. Battery lasts a long time. Its not too heavy to handle.
Really happy! Quiet, not too heavy and the battery runs for slo long I'd done the hedge and still have 33% left.
Good kit, for once it comes with a charger and a 5amp battery.
It is not as powerful as a 240v Bosch cutter with thick materials, but with patience it cleared the area of brambles and a huge amount of horsetail invasive plants to open a path again nowhere near a power point. Much lighter and les bother than a 2-stroke.
In use I did a 45 minute job and there was still two bars left on the battery charge.
The charger is a new version with a 2 part LED indicator to indicator power levels. Quite honestly, I go for 100% charge every time. Charge times are very much faster.
Just bought a 2nd battery for a proper away job. No supporting strap supplied, but it is lighter to carry.
Had this a few weeks now and put to extensive use, both in my own (very overgrown) garden and in some scrubland/woods where I've been assisting by clearing dense brambles and nettles. Cutter works very well and put up with all the abuse I've thrown at it so far. Pretty good run time on 5aH batteries.

I bought this as a wedding anniversary present for my wife earlier in the year - to say she was over the moon would be an under-statement.
Generally went for the Dewalt one as I have batteries for other tools so didn't want to start a new tool family but the machine performs well, is nicely balanced and not too heavy even for my wife.
Particularly like the chunky hand grips and general feeling of robustness about it.
A 5.0 Ah battery gives plenty of power to carry out what we need in a single charge, would get by on the smaller batteries.
More costly than others out there but reckon this is the only one I will own for a fair while to come so irrelevant in the long run.
Great piece of kit which lasts very well. Really ought to come with 2 batteries to allow one to be charging. Nevertheless easy to handle and good cutting capacity.
bought this as all my other dewalt tools are great but this hedge cutter not so good,
may be better for thin branches but struggles on a normal hedge… expected better
Bought this to trim a roadside hedge that was making pulling out of our lane rather dangerous due limited vision. Made short work of trimming the overgrown branches, lightweight and easy to transport.

Not on "Which" but very satisfied with the design, the reduced weight against my old Bosch, and the actual superior result. The battery seems to outlast most competitors before requiring recharge although being the same battery as my other power tools just another big plus.
The tool is light and easy to use, I have been using a longer cut which eases long straight hedges, the shorter cut means be a bit more careful and the jobs just fine.
It does cut a fir hedge cleanly, a lot don’t!
Battery lasts fine, very pleased with it.
