Excellent product for skimming over artex and it sands so easily. It saved plaster boarding the ceiling.
I’m purely a reasonable DIY’er but have managed some pretty decent finishes redoing my bathroom walls/ceiling…great coverage for rough walls, easy to put on, workable for a reasonable time (although don’t do too big a stretch in one go…it will start to harden and grain up). Not cheap, but gives great finish.
Very easy to use, even for a novice…. Collection is best as it often arrives damaged by delivery companies!
First time attempting to plaster over artex ceiling. Found the mix to be quite thick and hard to get onto the roller. Ended in not a smooth covering but this probably down to technique. Covered much smaller area than suggested. Thought roll on plaster might be as easy as the videos suggest but not in my case.
Excellent stuff easy to apply & smooth with the right tools
Great stuff to use , roll in smooth out and repeat
Used this to smooth walls in my Son's Victorian house. Walls were very rough and uneven with various cracks. They now look like they've been skimmed. Fantastic stuff and relatively easy to use. Top tip, don't worry about trying to get all the ridges from the tooling out, it is easier to leave it to dry and sand them out the next day.
Expensive but saves the need of a plasterer. Needed to finish with a drywall sander but that's more down to my skill.
Smooth and easy to apply doesn’t dry out too quickly
Excellent product for covering old Artex ceiling. Will use again.
I had seen this product recommended on YouTube quite a bit so thought I would give it a good to smooth over an Artex ceiling. I found it easy to apply with a roller or trowel and it sanded back beautifully with a mirka sander after giving it two coats. I will definitely be using it in the future on jobs where old plaster need smoothing over.
I got this for plastering a small area of wall. Easy to apply (although putting it on with a trowel maybe easier than roller). With some practice I got a reasonable finish after smoothing out, though some sanding will be needed!
We moved a boxed in soil stack, so the new boards needed skimming. I gave this a try.
I found it relatively easy to use, needs a good skimming tool, but these are inexpensive and readily available, as are the rollers to apply. I rolled it on, smoothed it with a jointing knife (note the angle you hold the knife is important), gave a little skim of filler in any groves, then sanded it all down to achieve a smooth finish.
I found that for me, the drying time is way too long, would be better if it could be quicker, but I guess that's to increase working time.
I probably wouldn't use this for plastering an entire room but for large patches, or even a whole wall, this stuff is brilliant and much more cost effective than hiring a plasterer for small jobs.
Excellent product for trade or DIY. I applied with a thick pile roller and smoothed out with a 600mm speedskim. Two applications for best results as getting good in one skim is hard going.
Very easy to sand and spot fill.
Excellent product easy to use and forgiving easy to sand
Great product even I couldn't fail to get a top finish though read the instructions and prepare your tools
Never used this type of product before and skimmed two small walls with great.
I’m a professional decorator and home improver and have been using a similar method for 20 years with Gyproc Easifill when plastering isn’t practical or really required, it comes in bags of different weights with different setting times and you can mix it to any consistency unlike this stuff. Personally I’d use Gyproc over this stuff for these reasons and the price having used both.
Great product easy to work with!
Easy clean up
Awesome results every time
Easy to use does what it says for the amateur plasterers
