The end of the rail was not sticky, it was damaged as if previously opened.
Despite cleaning the tiles thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allowing time for evaporation it fell down two days later. Very disappointed.
Fitted this then wanted to raise it up, but it wouldn’t tighten up again.
I ordered these Shower curtain rails thinking that like those that I have fitted in the past they were spring loaded - i.e. that fitting them involved screwing the sections apart until the rail was about 150mm longer than the length required and then pushing the sections apart to fit across the space.
These rails are not spring loaded - to fit them you put the sections together - pull them out to tension the ends into the space where they are going and then while applying as much tension as possible twist the sections to lock them in position - then tighten further by unscrewing a plastic sleeve at one end of the rail which pushes out a plastic `button` / end piece putting slightly more tension into the rail.
I did not use the stick on end collars because the walls where I was fitting the rails were not tiled and the collars need to be stuck onto a smooth surface - not a painted wall or wallpaper.
I already had white enamelled metal collars which I screwed into place to accept the new Shower curtain rails and prevent them from slipping down / out from the walls.
I had actually wanted a spring loaded version because I was replacing badly rusted chrome rails one of which had to be run into a recess at one end and behind a cupboard at the other - but I was able to fit one of the `Stick N Lock` rails without any difficulty.
My only slight concern which prevented me giving these rails 5 stars was that the `tightening sleeve` and `end button` are plastic and I wonder whether the `sleeve` will remain tight for years to come ans also whether it will be affected by UV rays / sunlight which streams into the Bathroom for most of every day ?
These Shower curtain rails are definitely a `Good` / `Easy to Fit` product and as they are white they should not `Rust` which is not the case with the chrome rails that I have used for many years - they were NOT Croydex products.
I only found out after speaking to previous customers that those chrome rails started rusting after a very short time - obviously because the chrome finish was not good quality.
I hope that this review helps future prospective buyers of these Croydex Shower curtain rails.
