Worst paint that I have ever used. Took 5 minutes stirring to mix the black layer in. Very, very thin - like water almost. Luckily, tried it on a small area first. Hardly stayed on the brush. Even after 3 coats, no real difference. Took it back for a refund next day.
The paint has a lot of pigment and that means good hiding, or covering power. The flow properties make it easy to apply. I found that two coats then one of high gloss made a good job.
White undercoat paint seems ok. Price was reasonable. Time will tell how good it is long term!
Bought this along with the gloss topcoat, I had to make a wooden plate to fit a letterbox to that I was replacing .. I couldn't get a letter plate to match the old one that was going through the outside wall hence making a wooden plate to fix to the wall 1st.. Paint goes on nicely with a good cover, think I gave 3 coats of undercoat and 2 of gloss... its been out in the weather now for quite a while now and it still looks good ..no yellowing on the gloss either .. I personally prefer Crown over Dulux anyway,, but I'm no expert.
Good quality paint. Goes on nice and smoothly and good coverage
Competitively priced and gave good adhesion to top coat. Needed two coats to cover a previously dark colour
i use tool station for the majority of equipment and consumables, particularly crown paint, i think is is by far the best paint and at a verycompetetive price,
Great spirit based undercoat which I think gives much better coverage and finish than any water based undercoat. Ok it takes a bit longer to dry but worth the wait. Have used on wood and on walls where emulsion had flaked off down to bare plaster in places, gives good base for re-emulsioning (if that is a word!)
Crown paint is a good quality paint giving good results
This must be the worst undercoat I have ever used. Really thin, and no coverage at all. Colour is actually more cream than white.
Went on ok, covered ok, one coat was enough, except over some knots where it needed 2.
Watery and poor coverage compared to Leyland Trade Undercoat. Stirred it to within an inch of its life too. Maybe a bad batch but will stick to another brand in future.
It’s Paint, available and at a good price, what more is there to say.
Great undercoat for any diy project, it says on the tin to use two coats but smaller jobs like my pre sanded down bannister only needed 1 coat,my only criticism is the tin could do with a handle, use a paint bucket otherwise
Does what it says on the tin. Gives good coverage although a little yellow when applied, it dries brilliant white.
Using undercoat certainly improves the finish. Good price compared to other brands.
Brilliant product the best option covers well and durable. But but but toooooo expensive…..ridiculous price
An undercoat paint that really covers and primes surfaces and hides faults, but does not seal knots, so beware, use Knotting on new planks
