Easy to fit post and tighten in place once the post shoe is fixed, I fixed mine in postcrete. So far so good.
Does the job it was needed for.
Does the job, great quality
The cast in legs are useless scarcely a mm thick and really wobbly. Bought to get a job out of a sticky situation and had to make it work in a hurry. Might as well buY a bolt down one and cast in some long bolts. 75mm measurement is off too had to shave the post down to get it in, at least it was tight rather than loose!
No matter what I buy from Toolstation the staff in Ormskirk are extremely helpful, friendly and go that little bit extra. All have good humour which is great under the current circumstances
Easy to put in, and close over the post. Bought for my builder who had no problem
Girl on desk at Ellesmere Port store very pleasant and quick
item was ok bit fiddley to tighten teh bolts
I had 2 of these delivered. The flat base plates arrived all buckled. The legs are thin and won’t, in my opinion, last long once they start corroding. They definitely need bolting down so you might as well just buy the bolt down ones instead.
I have a small fence that the posts have rotted off at ground level after only 2 years.
Purchased these post shoes to keep posts above ground level, I was able to reverse the posts, after cutting off the rotted section, and reclaim them. I found the best way was to fix post in new shoe and assemble the fence before concreting the shoe in position with support till concrete went off. I now have a stable fence that hopefully will last. Shoes are solid in ground and secure.
Water erosion and high winds caused my fence fall. This post shoe offered a fix for a few years until I can do a permanent job. I see that previous reviews state that the item in the picture is not the same as the item delivered. That issue has been addressed as the item I received is identical to the one pictured.
good post shoe easy to cement in ground. makes installing posts very easy.
I bought these a few days ago and am very pleased
I’ve been using these as post feet for various garden structures. Seems much better than putting a wood post straight into the ground. Great as you can put them directly into a wet concrete block along with the bolts. Tried a few techniques to improve the life of the installation; - making sure the holes in the bottom are clear of concrete, so there’s drainage, treating the ends of the post with bitumen based roof ‘stuff’, spray waxing the inside of the feet and making wood boxing so the concrete (mixed not too wet) is nice and square at the top.
They seem to hold the post well and are easy enough to use. The final test is how they look in 5/10 years time.
