This is one of the very best Secateurs. For two good reasons. Firstly, it is geared so that as you keep cutting into a thicker branch, then it will continue to cut rather than be defeated. Secondly, the enclosed grip underneath, makes it easier to open and close the cutters as you cut through the branches.
First pair of ratcheting pruning snips i have owned or used some times the ratcheting fails and takes a moment to gey used to but great for the slightly thicker branches and ones got tje hang of them fab for thin ones as well.
Its a good bit of kit,I used it straight away, it did what I wanted
I needed to undertake a significant trim back of a large old ivy. Ordinary secateurs were just not up to the job and resulted in blisters!
So I bought these to see if they would do any better.
And yes, absolutely brilliant!
Definitely recommended.
They work very well and all metal construction, far easier when you hit that occasional thick branch when pruning, normal pruners in one pocket and ratchet in the other, very easy when you are up a ladder, and a good price.
Used in the garden for a year, like the ratchet, but the internal mechanism sheared off today, so not so great. Not that tough or edurable.
I spent two hours cutting down Bamboo, chopping up into small pieces to put in the wheelie bin. They were perfect at cutting thinner material and the ratchet does not engage. As soon as you try to cut something thick and hard (I'm talking about Bamboo, not a Millwall supporter) the ratchet engages and steadily cuts through really tough material. It was effortless; I didn't even get a blister.
Good quality secateurs at a great price, click and collect was straightforward.
These really do cut large branches without placing strain on the hand.
The best pruners I have ever used. The ratchet really makes difference. My wife pilfered them for half an hour, so I had to use my old pair - that was when I realised how much easier to use the were.
Quite expensive but well worth the money.
I doubt I will ever buy anything else.
Used several times since purchasing & i'm very impressed, the ratchet system makes pruning a much easier task!
Very pleased with the secateurs, they effortlessly cut through all branches up to an inch or more. the ratchet mechanism works really well.
This item has been used quite a lot since it was bought and it is a very good product
Never used ratchet secateurs before, they make it so easy to cut thicker branches without straining my knuckles.
Well designed and sturdy, comfortable when using and make light work of pruning . 20mmm thick branches as specified by manufacturers is accurate .
Looks good and sharp, it was ready to be picked 8n 30 minutes
Bought for a friend's birthday..thought I would try them out I ended up keeping them and getting her another pair!
Disappointed, not as good as my old Spear and Jackson ones.
Very sharp comfortable to use, but I found the ratchet system was very upredictable. Didnt seem to regularly trigger the ratchet, so sometimes 2 or 3 cuts before the next ratchet engages. Well built solid secatuers, pity the ratchet engagement isnt more regular
Excellent product : reasonably lightweight,
Good rachet action for cutting thicker branches.
Good firm lock when not in use, does not suddenly spring open in pocket.
